ENV: AIX 4.3 / rs6000

while running a program our root (/) directory fills up. I simply can't find where this file is located.

Doing a df . insite the program gives the following output:

during run of program
/dev/hd4 65536 33144 50% 953 6% /
after run of program
/dev/hd4 65536 43800 34% 950 6% /

But when i run a du -ax / to get the disk usage of my root volume
i can't find any differences.

Our these hidden files? I simply can't find the file that is causing
this fill. The production version will kill the root because the processed data is much more ( we have tried it and it did fill to 100 % )

fuser command will identify process id of the processes that are using the filesyetem.

fuser -c mount point

fuser comes the following switch

-c report on files that are mount points for file systems and any files within those mounted file systems

-u Displays the user login name for each process ID.

-k SIGKILL is sent to each process using the file system.

the syntax in your case will be
fuser -cu /
to kill the process add the k switch
