how do we convert gregorian date to julian date.
is there a function in Cshell which can do this

the code given converts julian date to gregorian date where as i need the othe way round. i need to cinvert gregorian date to julian date and that to in Cshell

No, please read the script I posted. It converts both ways julian <-> gregorian. You may have difficulty porting this script to C shell (although I am sure it is possible). [t]csh does not have some of the stronger scripting capabilities that ksh/bash/others have. See my previous posts or this link on why CSH programming is considered harmful.
