Question delete a file from an existing Solaris tar

How can I delete a file from an existing Solaris tar file ? (not gtar)

You can not delete an file from the existing tar file. Read manual of tar (man tar).

You can untar the package and then remove the file and retar...this will acheive the result.

tar -xvf ......
rm xxxxxx
tar -cvf .....
