editor needed?
Hi,
I need to cut/copy/paste lines from one file to another in Uxix. what is the best way to do this? Should an editor be used, or can you use a command?

if you are using an editor such as emacs or vi, the usual cut-copy-paste commands are available in them
check the cut and paste commands, if they help in what you want to do
for complex operations, sed and awk would be useful
