Do i need a script to achieve this?
Hi all,

i have a following folder call 'zz'. This 'zz' folder is found in the following directories.

I would like to delete the zz in the following directories
/aa/zz
/aa/bb/cc/zz
/aa/bb/cc/dd/zz
/aa/bb/cc/dd/ee/zz

and keep the zz folder in the following directories
/WW/zz

Essentially, all zz folders under /aa to be deleted, other zz folders to remain?

i thought of trying

rm -rf zz /aa

Is this a valid syntax in linux? i tried to man rm and was unable to determine if the syntax is valid.

find /aa -name zz -type d -print | xargs -n 1 rmdir

will find all directories under /aa called zz and pass the full path of each to "rmdir"
