Pakage Installation

I am installing a gcc package from sunfreeware.com
When i run pkgadd it gives me this
Using </usr/local> as the package base directory.
## Processing package information.
## Processing system information.
## Verifying disk space requirements.
## Checking for conflicts with packages already installed.

The following files are already installed on the system and are being
used by another package:
* /usr/local/bin <attribute change only>

* - conflict with a file which does not belong to any package.

Do you want to install these conflicting files [y,n,?,q]

I did not get this question .
Does that mean giving a yes - just overwrite
What kinds of conflicts are we looking at ?
How can i find out ...

I suggest you read the FAQ on sunfreeware.com - especially question 7.

When you download from a site, normally they have the answers to these questions.

As far as a pkgadd in Solaris, normally if you don't answer yes, then the package does not get loaded. You will find that the gcc installation will have to put files in system directories. There may be solutions to this in the FAQ on www.sunfreeware.com
