$ echo $PATH

You must see your path in screen.

also check this

cat ~/.profile |grep PATH

PATH=/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin; export PATH

PS: You must execute "export PATH"
# 3
echo $PATH

Code:
/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/uscr

cat ~/.profile |grep PATH

Code:
PATH=$PATH:/usr/uscr:/usr/rscr; export PATH

see on $PATH it doesn't show /usr/rscr but with cat ~/.profile |grep PATH .. its there! im confused Smilie

try this in your shell

Code:
PATH=$PATH:/usr/uscr:/usr/rscr; export PATH; echo $PATH
