Sun Packages are bundled and unbandled software. One package usually contains:
*Files describing the package
*Files describing the relationship to the target sysytem( for example: disk space required)
* The actual file to be installed
*Scripts that should be run before and after installation( or during removal)
Sun package is created by Sun and Start with SUNW. If you need to create your own package, you need to write scripts and tell the scripts where to put your package and how to make your package work.

Go to to search "package", maybe you can get some idea.
