UNIX for Dummies Questions & Answers

i have to repartition some of my filesystems ...
I have just one HDD ....
df -k gives this :-

i have to reduce space in /opt and give it to /export/home ...

Can I do this without harming the root and /usr partitions ...

If you don't touch the disk slices that root and /usr reside on you should be fine.

But you will will have to backup and restore your /opt and /export/home slices before you resize your partitioning.
