Can't install Linux/Unix from CD-R ?

I extracted the ISO files of Linux to CD-R's but when I rebooted my computer, the CD's can't be read ( I had changed the setup to boot from CD). What could be the possible reasons?

You have really burnt the ISOs to CD's. You are sure you didn't just copy them?

Try listing the files on the CD on an existing OS. Can you read the files from within that OS?

Yes, you are right. I copied the files instead of burning them to the CD's. I've successfully installed SUSE Linux on my computer. Thanks.
