Undefined variable error
I am getting the error undefined variable even after following these steps
Code:
#read name
abcd
#echo $name
na: undefined variable

That's weird. It's only treated $na as the variable. Are you typing this out manually?

Try this and see if you get the same results

echo "${name}"

# 3

#echo $name
name: undefined variable

#read name
abcd
#echo "${name}"
name: undefined variable

same error.. sorry i missed out last time. it was "name: Undefined variable"

What shell are you using?

C-Shell is horrible, if it's that!

Its c shell, anyway i can change that..
