The files have NO permission bits set
The files have NO links
The files are owned by root
The files have NO data (0 bytes)
The files were created the day before UNIX time begins (Jan 1, 1970).

All I can say is... what happened???!!!

Whoah - where are those files found? And what name are they? Surely they can't both be 'filename' - but then again, they shouldn't have epoch - 1 for a date either...

I would suspect a damaged filesystem possibly caused by incorrect use of the clri command. I would make a tape backup of this filesystem pronto. Then I would umount the filesystem and try a manual fsck. If that doesn't work, the next step would be rebuilding the filesystem.
