Wrench Transferring the file from one UNIX box to another UNIX box

Hi Folks,

I am using winscp to graphiclly move the files from one unix box to another unix box , let say one unix box crediantials is (These are dummy crediantials)

xxx -->username
yyy -->password

and another unix box name is

RRR -->username
TTT -->password

NOW i need to transfer the file kept on first unix box to another second unix box
at first unix box , file is kept at
Code:
/opt/usr/local/f1.txt

and need to transfer to second unix box at
Code:
/opt/htr/local/

Now pls advise the command to manually transfer the file f1.txtSmilie

what unix distribution u are using?

Hi,

Please login in first unix server with root user and root have complete authorisation.
Code:
# ftp second unix server IP address and login with root
#cd /opt/usr/local
#lcd /opt/htr/local
#mget f1.txt

If system ask something then press y
You can download any file from one server to another server through ftp

Login to the second box using ssh as user RRR and then:

scp xxx@server1:/opt/usr/local/f1.txt  /opt/htr/local

use scp just like everyone suggests here.
