Shell script to extract data from csv file

Hi Guys,

I am new to shell script.I need your help to write a shell script.
I need to write a shell script to extract data from a .csv file where columns are ',' separated.
The file has 7 columns having values say column 1,column 2.....column 7 as below along with their values.
Name, Address, Account, Date, Dateofbirth, city, country.
Code:
Alpha, 146, 0012365, 12/13/1982, 12/13/1982, delhi, india

Now i want to write a script to first check if the file name.csv exists at /home/home1.
If the file exists i want to display column 2,column 4,column 5,column 6 and column 7 header along with their values if there are any values in it.

Output should be like below:
Code:
Address     :146
date          :12/13/1982
dateofbirth  :12/13/1982
City            :Delhi
Country       :India

the above output should be send to mail abc@gmail.com

Assuming the header row is part of the input file

Code:
#!/bin/ksh
IFILE=/home/home1/name.csv
OFILE=/home/home1/name.csv.out
if [ -r $IFILE ]  #Checks if file exists and readable
then
  awk -F, '(NR==1){h2=$2;h4=$4;h5=$5;h6=$6;h7=$7;next} {print h2":"$2"\n"h4":"$4"\n"h5":"$5"\n"h6":"$6"\n"h7":"$7}' $IFILE > $OFILE
fi
cat $OFILE | mail -s "My data" abc@gmail.com

It gives syntax error as below:
^ syntax error in for all awk statements(as many times awk command is executed) and at the last write ^ backslash not last character of line.

One more thing..if there are more than 1 rows for all the columns,i need to displays all the rows in the output.Sorry for not clarifying in initial post.

I tried with more than 1 row in input as below

Input:
Code:
Name, Address, Account, Date, Dateofbirth, city, country
Alpha, 146, 0012365, 12/13/1982, 12/13/1982, delhi, india
Alpha, 146, 0012365, 12/13/1982, 12/13/1982, delhi, india

And I got the output as below (using same awk code I posted above)

Output:
Code:
 Address: 146
 Date: 12/13/1982
 Dateofbirth: 12/13/1982
 city: delhi
 country: india
 Address: 146
 Date: 12/13/1982
 Dateofbirth: 12/13/1982
 city: delhi
 country: india

If you are on solaris, try nawk

Thanks it worked..But one small issue.when there is only one row it is displaying again the columns with null value as below:
Code:
 Address: 146
 Date: 12/13/1982
 Dateofbirth: 12/13/1982
 city: delhi
 country: india
 Address:
 Date:
 Dateofbirth:
 city: delhi
 country:

Could be because of blank lines. Either you remove blank lines from input file or include the below highlighted condition in the awk command.

Code:
awk -F, '(NR==1){h2=$2;h4=$4;h5=$5;h6=$6;h7=$7;next} (NF>1){print h2":"$2"\n"h4":"$4"\n"h5":"$5"\n"h6":"$6"\n"h7":"$7}' $IFILE > $OFILE
