Menu Script question

I am far from a unix script programmer ..
Heres the problem ..
I have a basic menu that calls functions..

One of the functions thats called invokes
TCPDUMP

The only way I know of to stop TCPDUMP is CTRL - C

But of course when I do this it kills the script and takes me
back out to the prompt.

I want it to take me back to the menu ..

Can I use While_list? or some while do loop?

Someone here said to enclose the command with ( )
but that didn't work ..

Can someone help ??

Why dont you submit TCPDUMP to background using & and then take note of the Process ID. Sleep for a certain period - then kill the process

Then continue you script..

Only other option (aside from the one mentioned above) is to use the '-c #' option which just readds # packets and then exits.
