SCO OpenServer 5 question

Hello,

I have searched the web for a couple hours now and have found no results, and I cam across the site and thought, "Why not?"

In the office that I work, we run an old SCO OpenServer 5.5 box. We are just about to open a branch that needs to connect to that server, but we do not know how to get it to allow a connection from another subnet. Is that possible with this version of SCO? If so, how would we go about doing it?

Are you talking about putting a second interface card in the system or just allowing a different subnet access?

Allowing a different subnet should be handled by the network - example - if SCO is on 192.168.0.0 and other network is 172.16.0.0 then when your SCO server needs to send to 172.16.0.0 it still should use it's default route.

We do not want to add a second interface card. Here is our setup:

Our central office (where I am at): 192.164.1.x (SCO is .1)
Our new branch in Florida is connecting through a VPN up here. They are on subnet 192.164.2.x. They can VPN up fine, access all of our file servers that are on the .1.x subnet, but are not able to telnet to the SCO OpenServer (which is 5.0.5 and not 5.5, I was typing a little bit too fast). They are not even connecting to it.

Hopefully that helps a little bit more.

Check your /etc/hosts.allow and hosts.deny files. If you don't have either, please post back with that info.
