Different locaiton of commands

Hello,

I have 2 solaris machines, the problem that i am facing is that:
simple commands like grep, awk, make, etc
are being taken from different folders.

In one machine its being taken from /usr/local/bin
and in other form /usr/ccs/bin/make

I have checked the PATH variable.
Its the same in both.

My scripts are not working just because of this, as these 2 directories's commands show some differences in execution.

Thanks in Advance.

Do you mean the machines have different versions of grep, awk?
Or do you mean the same versions, but in different locations?

To be simple, different locations.

But commands of these 2 locations differ a bit in their behaviour.

It has got be your path otherwise the programs are not in /usr/local/bin. Can you do an env on both hosts and post the results?

Path is same, and the commands are present in both locations.
This i can assure.

I am getting a very long listing in env.
what things do you want.

Please post the output from both servers (name the servers A & B) of the following:
echo $PATH
which awk
uname -a

This will assist us in helping you - change any 'personal' info you don't want to include (such as hostname - change it to A & B).

I forgot to tell you something interesting.
Both my machines use the same .profile, as i am mounting that user from one machine to another.

PATH:

o/bin:/disk2/ora9i64/bin:/software/ilog/rules72/bin/solaris

which make:
A: /usr/local/bin/make
B: /usr/ccs/bin/make

B: SunOS e420r 5.8 Generic_108528-23 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-80
