o/p "5" is the yesterday's date.. both the syntax in "if" condition are having mild difference. just a additional space is included in "grep" command .. if the date value is less than 10, then while listing the files (ls -ltr) then u will find two spaces b/w "Mon" and "Date" . Hope it clears Smilie

I have constructed a find/grep statement to get the list of directories ending in log, but I can't seem to pipe that to grep (via xargs) to have grep search each file in the log directories...
