What is a "bootonly" iso?
I'm pretty familiar with Linux and am trying to learn Unix. What are these "bootonly" iso's I keep seeing on the Unix download sites? Thanks.

I think it means it only boots, as in, doesn't bring you to any sort of automated installer, include any installable software packages, etc.

Typically, if you are talking about a Linux distribution, it means that it boots a small image from the CD/DVD that then gets the rest of the installation from an online repository.

"Putting together" several ISO files?

I'm downloading the new solaris and tried with the dvd version. For some reason though it downloads like 5 small isos called solaris_dvd_ 480 mb. So I need to like make one big dvd out of the five.. How do I do that? /Richard (1 Reply)
