Removing hotswapable HDD

I want to be able to remove the hotswapable HDD to which I wrote backup .tar files.

So I umount the thing (every slice) and than I simply pull out the HDD ? Or what ?

what bus (ide, scsi, fc??)

one question again:
what maschine, cause some suns support a real hotswap (poweroff slot) and some not.... on some mashines with an internal fc-al you need to exclude them from the fc-loop...

so, umount, pull it out, and run a "devfsadm -C" to clear your device entries...
