Audio HELP Please!

I know about next to nothing, and I am trying to play an audio file on HP-UX 10.2 (743i) every time I try to use the ‘/opt/audio/bin/AudioCP &' command I get an error message that says “Unable to access audio hardware.” I checked the man page on audio, and both Aserver and rpcd are running. Am I missing something, or is there another way I can run a wave file, maybe a command arg or something, or even point me in the right direction.

Any help will be greatly appreciated...

Have you set your AUDIO variable? You'll need to set this in your profile and export the variable.

Yes I set the AUDIO and SPEAKER vars in .vueprofile and exported them both but I still get the same errors.

Set the AUDIO to your unqualified hostname; you may want to set SPEAKER to internal or external, depending on where you have a speaker. Remember to export the envs. Also try:

/opt/audio/bin/asecure -C and
/opt/audio/bin/asecure -d

and if this doesn't cut it, try searching hp's site for patches.

I did disable the security to allow access to any host with -d, but I still get the same error...

Is there any way that i can mount the audio port, or see if there is any communication to that port?
