Wrong Time on Server

Hello Folks,

The following: I got to solve a problem for a colleague. I do have an server HP-UX in a network. There is a Time Server, but it has to be adapted, due to NTP not reachable.
The time on the server notifies more then 10 minutes in the future. There is a working database on the server. Question is: How can I change the time, without negative output influencing the database?
Man date: -a [-]sss[.fff]
Slowly adjust the time by sss.fff seconds (fff represents
fractions of a second). This adjustment can be positive or
negative. The system's clock will be sped up or slowed down
until it has drifted by the number of seconds specified.

How can I turn back time?
Many thanks Smilie

This option may not be available to you but one way would be to shut the system down for 10 minutes or whatever the time delta is and bring it back up with the correct time set.

Already thanks for the reply :)

But is there with date -a not an option to slow down the time? Or an other command? Then the server doesn't have to go down and the database keeps running.
I was searching at google already for a while, but could not really find a answer.
