Hello All,

I have multiple duplicate entries in /etc/group file with same GID/Groupname and trying to figure out what is the best approach to remove the duplicate entries. A sample file is given below.

Code:
error: lines with duplicate gid 81:
    uct:x:81:
    www:x:81:

error: lines with duplicate groupname tsm:
    tsm::50:
    tsm::500:

error: lines with duplicate groupname deploy:
    deploy::9651:
    deploy::9651:user

error: lines with duplicate gid 1111:
    ppsb:!:1111:root,ppsb,pay                                                          
    sys:*:1111: lock,


What would be the impact in each case (and please keep in mind that this is production.)

No Yazu....that is not what I was looking for. The idea is to come up with a science that will not impact the existing users/files/directories.
