Question Help with the reversal of the date

Hi,

I need to reverse the date format from yyyymmdd to ddmmyyyy using a UNIX script.

Can someone please help me in this regard?

One way - using Bash
Code:
$ original="yyyymmdd"
$ echo ${original:6:2}${original:4:2}${original:0:4}
ddmmyyyy
