Delete after Tag
Hello,

how can i delete after a tag with sed.

this:

Code:
<h3>adsas</h3>
asdsad
asdsad

to:
Code:
<h3>adsas</h3>

how can i delete all words after the </h3>????

Assuming you want to remove every line following:

Code:
#  cat sed-in
<h3>adsas</h3>
asdsad
asdsad


#  sed '/<h3>adsas<\/h3>/q' sed-in
<h3>adsas</h3>

Instead of delete after, why not just print before?
Code:
$ echo "<h3>asdas<\h3>"|sed 's/\(<h3>*<\/h3>\)/\1/'
<h3>asdas<\h3>

thanks for your helps but my problem is an other,

i have txt file like
PHP Code:
asdasd
asdad
<h3> asdsad </h3>
asda
asd 
when i make that,
PHP Code:
sed -n <x.txt -e "/^<h3>/,/<^h3>/p" 
then this remove all before <h3> but i want to remove all which comes after the END tag, too.
