HME1 on Solaris 2.5.1

Does anyone know how to setup The Hme1 interface on a Solaris 2.5.1 system. Thanks in advance.

if you are asking to bring up hme1 interface

try this

ifconfig hme1 plumb

ifconfig hme1 ip_address netmaks up

ifconfig hme1 netmask up

do not forget to add to /etc/hosts and /etc/hostname.hme1

Changing Network Interface hme1 to hme0

I have sun solaris 9 installed but I have the interface configured to hme1 instead of hme0, our default value. Is there a way where i can rename the existing/working hme1 to hme0...?
