listing content, why -p?
I tried to list the content of a directory using the following command:

$ ls

When I inserted -p:
Code:
$ ls -p

I got forward slashes (/) after each directory name. What is the goal of -p in this case?

-p Write a slash (`/') after each filename if that file is a direc-
tory.


One (main?) goal could be to see if a file is a file or a directory.

May be use the slashes (/) in your script for understand it's a dir Smilie
