Data Terminal Video Settings

I am not a Solaris (Unix) guy so i need help. I am trying to get a Sun Ultra 5 running Solaris 8 to display the correct video for my KVM switch. I have set the CDE to 1024x768x75 and have no problem with video using this setting in CDE. When I shut down the server or boot up the server it is defaulting to 1280x1024 (not sure of the refresh rate). My KVM switch cannot see this resolution. I can see the startup and shutdown screen fine with hooking up a monitor. I called Sun and asked them if there is any way to change the resolution within the bootup or shutdown config. They stated no. I also created a alias for the M64b@2 card so that it would post to the screen. Does anyone have any info on this?Smilie

Strange since they have a FAQ stating you can set output-device

Go back to OBP and change the name back to screen:r1152x900r66
Check Sunsolve for the following subject " Cannot start the Common Desktop Environment (CDE)"

I am confused a little. The CDE is working fine with 1024x768@75hz. It is the terminal mode that I cannot see since it defaults to 1280x1024@75hz. Do you mean I need to add the line sceen or add the resolution to it. Can you give me an example? Also what is OBP?

READ the FAQ on sunsolve - I posted what the subject of it is so you could find it - what it is suggesting in that FAQ may help with your problem (I know your CDE is working)

OBP - open boot prompt .
