Another alternative is to make use of Perl modules (which can be found in CPAN) which are using OpenOffice APIs to handle the data.

You may have to search for the .pm related to OpenOffice Data manipulation.

Thanks for helping. But is there any alternative way without using cpan. Can it be converted to ascii and replace the word and convert back to binary? Smilie

Or anyone can give me some idea on how to use Perl on searching and replacing a text in MS word in UNIX environment? Appreciate it.
