Web connection... HOW????????????

Web connection... HOW????????????
dear colleagues, my unix "told me" has detected the network card of my pc, but when I connect the adsl cable in the card's socket... nothing happens.
My another pc with Windows XP is normally connected to the Web through a router, without need of especify IP addresses etc.
How can I do to establish a connection to the web with my pc with unix?.
I tried changing the IP in the Solaris Management Console but.... it doesn't function.
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are trying to get dhcp running on Solairs X86, try this info on sunsolve - this should work if you are connecting it to a router that is assigning the IP.
