Setting up a personal FTP

Ok guys, i dont need a detailed guide from you guys if you dont want to give me one, but i would appreciate maybe a link to a newb step by step guide on how to create your own ftp Smilie

ok, the instructions is to get to [root@localhost root]#

I dont know how to get there ....

i am at [gearshifter@localhost /]$

type the command 'su' to switch to root permissions.

well.. it seems as though i am recieving some errors.. would a router affect the FTP?

i am getting some sort of Error 500 or something, I'll tell you when i get home tonight around 2:30PM Est

Yes a router would affect an FTP...

You have to forward/open corresponding ports.

and this would be an option that could be selected within the routers "ip" (27.0.0.0.1 or whatever)
