So you agree you have far more file systems than what you see with bdf..
Why? and why arent they mounted /especially /opt /tmp /home...)

Unless you are sure you are not on the same disks, 2 swaps on the same vg 2 will slow more than help... ( check wiht lvdisplay -v or pvdisplay -v...)

Both command lvdisplay is not working ..

what we here want to make sure is that before we shutdown we are going to run ur script. Which should take all the available mount directories and and the space occupied for those directories in a file.

After the system restarts we are going to run the same script which will take the same information.

then we are going to have a script to compare this two results.if we found a difference then we can say there is some problem occured when we added the memory

Just we want to make sure by this comparision our sysadmins doesnt miss any file or mount after the addition of memory

If we got any information difference then we can be sure that there is some problem in mount

We are using HP Unix.

As far i have tried

bdf | grep -iv filesystem |
awk '{if (NF!=1){if (NF==5){print $4"\t" $5"\t"}
else{print $5"\t\t" $6"\t"}}}' |
sed 's/'%'/''/'

But i want to know whether this will give info of all mount directories

Before shutdown:
#bdf > b4downfs

After reboot
#bdf > afdownfs

Compare both files for difference.
#diff b4downfs afdownfs

If there are any difference the line numbers will appear.
