AFAIK, pcput is not a Solaris command. Are you sure that it isn't part of some application?

Ya even I suspect that pcput is not a Solaris command ....but one user wants to use this command in Solaris 5.8...and she wants to use this command for transferring a file.

Don't know how to help her.

Try suggesting some alternatives, ftp/sftp or something. Unless it is for a specific application that will only accept files from pcput, the user shouldn't have problems using a different command.

Hmmm yes I think this temporary solution will work...well thanks for the help....

I ll continue searching for this command.

I suspect that "pcput" may be part of "ESP-r" software, but I may be wrong. "pcput" also could be alias of other suite of commands, where your user had previously been (wild guess Smilie)
Anyways, as blowtorch suggested, looking for standard alternatives may be the smarter move.
