A chat with Linux Astronomy's Eugene Clement (video)

At SCALE 6x in February, one of the first things on the expo floor to grab my attention was the scaffolding of a large telescope jutting up towards the ceiling in the far corner of the room. The device belonged to the Linux Astronomy project, which built the entire system from scratch.
A number of people have asked me to make some videos, so I just got my first condenser microphone and so I can make some amateurish screen casts. I will try to do better in the future.

I'm writing a simple chat client in C++ on linux to connect to a win32 chat server on my computer also written in C++. I'm confident that the server works but the chat client is giving me some trouble. I'm forking the chat client and have one process dealing with incoming messages and another... (14 Replies)

I am trying to embed Skype or any other video chat/chat program into a webpage. Has anyone had success doing this? or know how?

GNOME multi-protocol chat and call client Instant messaging program supporting text, voice, video, file transfers and inter-application

The main user interface consists of a contact list window and an icon in the notification area.
OPTIONS -n, --no-connect
Don't connect on startup
-h, --start-hidden
Don't display the contact list or any other dialogs on startup

EMPATHY_LOGFILE=filename
If set, debug output will go to the given file rather than to stderr.
EMPATHY_DEBUG=type
