Canonical, OIN's 1st Associate Member, Commits to Freedom of Action in Open Source
OIN has just announced a new associate membership program, and Canonical is the first associate member:
OIN Associate Members, such as Canonical, demonstrate support and commitment to limiting the effects of patent disputes in Linux. Canonical's activities and those of all companies seeking to adopt and use Linux will be facilitated as OIN works closely with Canonical and other companies that are supporting Linux's growth and expansion. Through the support of its founding members including IBM, NEC, Novell, Philips, Red Hat and Sony, OIN has amassed a broad portfolio of patents, including patents held by nominees on its behalf....
"We view Open Invention Network as one of the key methods through which open source leaders and innovators can deter patent aggression," said Jane Silber, CEO of Canonical. "We are committed to freedom of action in open source, and have noted OIN's efforts to actively defend and enable the Linux ecosystem. By becoming an OIN Associate Member, we are supporting the broad OIN mission and its commitment to enable and protect Linux's advancement."
One thing for sure I know about Mark Shuttleworth. He's brave. Microsoft doesn't cause him to cower in fear. And I'll tell you what I know about OIN. They know how to fight to win.
Hi Friends
I'm new to this UNIX - I'm working on the porting project from Solaris To Linux i just want to map some commands from solaris to Linux so can any one please tell me how to get the source code of the commands like "ls", "cu", "du"

Hello,
I have a problem with DB handling in Perl.
Module 1 ---calls--> Module 2
Module 1 creates a DB Connection and passes the DB handle to Module2.
In module 2, I perform some Selects and Updates using this DB Handle.
Now Selects are ok....but after Update, when I give... (0 Replies)

Constructor & Destructor Documentation
ost::UDPReceive::UDPReceive (const IPV4Address &bind, tpport_tport) [protected]
Create a UDP receiver, bind it to a specific interface and port address so that other UDP sockets on remote machines (or the same host) may
find and send UDP messages to it, and associate it with a given port on a peer host. On failure to bind, an exception is thrown.
Parameters:
bind address to bind this socket to.
port number to bind this socket to.
ost::UDPReceive::UDPReceive (const IPV6Address &bind, tpport_tport) [protected]
Member Function Documentation
Error ost::UDPReceive::connect (const IPV4Host &host, tpport_tport) [protected]
Associate this socket with a specified peer host. The port number from the constructor will be used. All UDP packets will be sent received
from the specified host.
Returns:
0 on success, -1 on error.
Parameters:
host host network address to connect socket to.
port host transport port to connect socket to.
Reimplemented from ost::UDPSocket.
Reimplemented in ost::UDPDuplex.
Error ost::UDPReceive::connect (const IPV6Host &host, tpport_tport) [protected]

bool ost::UDPReceive::isInputReady (timeout_ttimeout = TIMEOUT_INF) [inline]
See if input queue has data packets available. Returns:
true if data packets available.
Parameters:
timeout in milliseconds.

bool ost::UDPReceive::isPendingReceive (timeout_ttimeout) [inline], [protected]
Check for pending data. Returns:
true if data is waiting.
Parameters:
timeout in milliseconds.

ssize_t ost::UDPReceive::receive (void *buf, size_tlen) [inline]
Receive a data packet from the connected peer host. Returns:
num of bytes actually received.
Parameters:
buf address of data receive buffer.
len size of data receive buffer.
