fstyp_ident(3FSTYP) File System Type Identification Library Functions fstyp_ident(3FSTYP)
NAME
fstyp_ident - identify file system attributes
SYNOPSIS
cc [ flag... ] file... -lfstyp -lnvpair [ library... ]
#include <libnvpair.h>
#include <libfstyp.h>
int fstyp_ident(fstyp_handle_t handle, const char *fstyp,
const char **ident);
PARAMETERS
handle Opaque handle returned by fstyp_init(3FSTYP).
fstype Opaque argument that specifies the file system type to be identified.
ident File system type returned if identification succeeds.
DESCRIPTION
The fstyp_ident() function attempts to identify a file system associated with the handle. If the function succeeds, the file system name is
returned in the ident pointer.
If fstype is NULL, the fstyp_ident() function tries all available identification modules. If fstype is other than NULL, fstyp_ident() tries
only the module for the file system type which is specified.
RETURN VALUES
The fstyp_ident() function returns 0 on success and an error value on failure. See fstyp_strerror(3FSTYP).
