For the OS only no. 5 GB would be more than enough, however I would suggest 10 would be a reasonable starting point.

Actually iam going to install solaris on my laptop(IBM R51e) just to practice it. Lets see how it goes.

Hi All,

I'm having a small doubt , i went to the vmware site and i found two products vmware server and vmware player, whats the difference between both of them and if i need to install win xp and solaris 10 which one should i use.

VMware server allows you to create VMs. Player only to run them.
