hi all, new to the site hope you can help something really easy I bet.

When trying to edit the cron I get the following message 577 ? I try and enter a new line in but when I quit it keeps on saying no changes have been saved? any ideas. Thinking its to do with premissions of some sort?

job done i edited the crontab the following way cheers:


crontab -l > mycrontab
vi crontab
crontab < mycrontab

easy when you know how.

cron job starts new cron proccess

I run cron in solaris 10 zone. One cron job which syncing files to nfs mounted on container, creates after finishing another cron proccess(/usr/sbin/cron), and after 100 existing cron proccesses next cron job will not start. Hi, I can use 'crontabs –e' and do all the scheduling I like. However I would like to auto send myself just the cronjobs logs that fail.
