Exiting (caught signal 11)

I created a new Virtual machine and was trying to install Solaris but keep getting this error.Smilie

EXITING (caught signal 11)
Type "install-solaris to restart"

Can't find anything on Google.

This is the iso image I am using "sol-10-u11-ga-x86-dvd"
Followed all the instructions on YouTube but just jeep getting stuck here.
I am hoping to get some help from the community.

Signal 11 means it's crashing. It really doesn't like your virtual machine for some reason. It might need different configuration or drivers.

What main memory is available to the install?

From experience, I wouldn't attempt to load that O/S on any system with less than 3GB, preferably 4GB of RAM.

Certainly too little RAM can cause this error.

I have about 4GB of memory.
Someone at my work told me its crashing because I am not installing it on risk-based server which I have no idea what it is?

What is the hardware? What virtualisation platform is it? VMware?

I assume the box is x86 (Intel, AMD, or similar)?

If your box has 4GB memory total it doesn't mean that all of it will be available to a virtual machine 'guest' created on it. There will be a default memory allocation for a new virtual machine which may not be enough. See your virtualisation platform documentation and try to jack it up to at least 3GB.

(RISC=Reduced Instruction Set Computer)
Don't think that's what you've got if it's x86 based.

If you are trying to run SPARC binaries on x86 compatible hardware or run x86 binaries on SPARC hardware, that is one possibility.

If you're running x86 binaries on x86 hardware or running SPARC binaries on SPARC hardware, a common underlying cause for termination by signal 11 is that the software is trying to dereference an uninitialized (or NULL) pointer. Not having enough memory (i.e., having malloc() return NULL when no space is available) is one way to get a pointer that could cause this; but any decent operating system installation software should be checking that memory allocations succeeded before dereferencing those pointers.
