the '-R' option to pkgadd allows you to change the root install path which defaults to '/'.

So:

pkgadd -R $HOME -d ./<package file>

Will install it into your home directory, creating a $HOME/usr/local direcotry in this case.

Not all software will work if you install it this way. But as long as you add $HOME/usr/local/bin to your PATH and $HOME/usr/local/lib to your LD_LIBRARY_PATH most should work fine.

In this particular case if you start the sshd you will have to specify the location of the sshd_config file since by default it will look in /usr/local/etc

could not send commands SSH session with Net::SSH::Expect

does anyone know in solaris 10, can you lock an account if the user does not change their password within a certain amount of time?
