Network interface not recoginized

Hello,
I have Windows and Solaris 10 installed on HP Pavalion. Both of the operating system are installed on separate drives. Network card is recognized on Windows but Solaris doesn't seem to recognize it for some reason. So far I have tried sys-unconfig but it didn't really help. Please advice me how to troubleshoot this problem?

I think that you should define the output of the commands that you try to know the problem, till that try to make these things:

1- check the ip you give to the card
2- check the service of the network
3- check the existence of the file /etc/hostname.cardname

your card may not be recognized by the OS. you might need to install a driver for that card or it might be unplumbed.
Code:
 # dladm show-dev

if it doesn't show anything, you need to install a driver for your card. check on windows what type of card you have or in Solaris:
Code:
# /usr/X11/bin/scanpci

look for your card on the list. and search the net for the driver.

Determine the name and model of the network interface through windows. Then check Oracle Solaris OS: Hardware Compatibility Lists to see if it is supported by Solaris.
