I found this post on the moderation queue so I validated it. We don't use the queue here, but this is the second time you posted this question and sent it to the queue. You are doing something wrong as you post a thread. Probably, you are checking "Yes! Post a poll", but then not completing the poll. Don't do that.

Hopefully someone who uses the solaris desktop stuff will have an answer for you...

How in the world could changing a cursor color be "urgent"????

Oh well, to answer your question, please post what you are using - I know you put Solaris 8 but I've not seen a yellow cursor in CDE so I imagine you are either using a different desktop OR you are using a terminal emulator to get to the Solaris system and that is where you need to make your change ( in the emulator not in Solaris).

Post how you connect to this Solaris system - on console, from a p.c./laptop , ....

If from a p.c./laptop, what product you are using (secureCRT, hyperterm...)

.......

hmm,...
if you are talking about the shell prompt you could use:

PS1='^[[33mINANE # ^[[0m'

^[ to get this you have to push:
ctrl v
esc

if you are talking about the term cursor you have to tell us which term emulation you are using.....
