What is the output from these enquiries when run as root:

Code:
grep \^siva: /etc/passwd

ls -lad /
ls -lad /export
ls -lad /export/home

ls -lad /export "drwxr-xr-x" 3 root sys 512 mar 5 22:27 /export

ls -lad /export/home "drwxr-x---" 3 root root 512 mar 5 22:27 /export/home

@sivajerripothu
Not enough, though there are clearly problems with the permissions on /export/home. Nobody except root can do anything useful.

Please post the full answer, including any error messages and making it clear which user you were at the time of issuing the commands.

Permissions are wrong for the /export/home directory. Fix them with:
Code:
chmod 0755 /export/home

Change the permission of your home dir

chmod 777 /export/home

No, please, don't suggest that. Otherwise anyone would be able to create/delete/rename subdirectories under /export/home, which would be a security breach.
