the server should be up and running unless you did a "init 0" which drops to OBP. you are at RSC level now and you need the RSC login and password which should be diffrent from the root account. if you don't know the RSC account, use a serial connection to the R280 console to get the "ok" prompt and boot your server. if "auto-boot?" is set to "true" just power off and power on the machine and it should boot solaris.
from solaris you can use the RSC software to maintain the RSC user account!
I haven't got The RSC user and password and that screen i got it when i connected my Laptop to the server through the serial connection , which is the only way to connect to the server-I am trying to connect through the TP port but i dont have an idea if this will help!! what do you think??
the TP port is the internal ethernet port. you have to use serial port A. if you've redirected the console to the RSC card you'll need to take some action from the service manual:
Quote:
If you need to redirect the console back to TTYA there are a number of options. OBP 4.15.x introduced Service mode , after shutting down the system turn the keyswitch to the diagnostics position and power on. The console will be redirected to the ttya serial port until the keyswitch is returned to normal and the system is reset.

If access to Solaris and the RSC card is not available as a last resort the RSC card can be removed. This will temporarily reset the console output to the TTYA port. Once the OBP has been started, the parameters will need to be reset appropriately until the RSC card has been configured.
I have a disk failure in a V280, the support tech asked for explorer output and rsc information

since RSC is not a secure connection, I am not comfortable with providing this information for a disk... (2 Replies)

Hi all,
After the V890 server shutdown unexpectedly, it became unaccessible from RSC. There is one error message about it: rscadm: RSC firmware not responding
Do you have experienced this? Please help! (1 Reply)
Has anyone had a message after attempting a telnet to an RSC server of:
"Console session already in use." I'm attempting to access this server to setup a user account, and I'm having some problems. Does anyone have an
idea or suggestion on how to proceed? (0 Replies)
