Bug Screen Resolution problem on Ultra 10 with Solaris 10

Hi,
I have a Sun Ultra 10 (SPARC) with Solaris 10 installed. The screen resolution is very poor and grainy which I have been unable to rectify. Every time I try to set the resolution I get the following:
'The XServer does not support the XRandR extension. Runtime resolution changes to the display size are not available'
I tried to run 'kdmconfig' also but did not work, as I think it only runs on x86 machines.
I also tried m64config and fbconfig but with no success.

Are there any Solaris 10/Ultra 10 gurus out there who can help?

Smilie

Thanks,
Patrick.

Reply to microbot

Hi microbot,

I did the following from a terminal:

modinfo -c | grep terminal
it returned nothing.

then, I tried:
modinfo | grep terminal (this time without the -c option), which gave
97 7bfde000 ed10 - 1 ldterm (terminal line discipline)

Not sure if this helps

Try fbconfig.

You will need to restart afterwards. Assuming you are using CDE, the way I normally do it is:
Code:
fbconfig -res 1280x1024x24 now

Login from another machine and run:

Code:
pkill dtsession

nope you just need to put

Code:
modinfo -c

in this way you can see which services and drivers are installed and loaded
