Hey Guys,
i'm trying to install and configure a jumpstart server on a solaris 11.3 x86 based system. I've already created the folders to install the server. I've tried to use the installation script as follow (i'm root on the system):
./setup_install_server /export/jumpstart

I 've a jumpstart configured, its working fine .. i can build servers from this jumpstart server but i want to build 2-3 servers from the same jumpstart server simultaneously, and since i have only one sysidcfg i can only build 1 server at a time. Can I use a Jumpstart enviroment on x86 to install a sparc64 client?
The idea is to install Solaris in an virtual environment (Sun Virtual Box) running on a pc (AMD), configure a Jumpstart server, and have a SUN Ultra 60 (sparc64) installed via the Jumpstart server.

I just built a jumpstart server on a Solaris 9 sun box and have had no problems jumpstarting other sol9 boxes using the custom rules. I've also copied a Solaris 10 image onto that same solaris 9 server and have had problems loading Solaris 10. These boxes will go directly to the manual OS install... (5 Replies)
