gWaei is a Japanese-English dictionary program for the GNOME desktop. It is made to be a modern drop-in replacement for Gjiten, with many of the same features. The dictionary files it uses are from Jim Breen's WWWJDIC project and are installed separately through the program. It features easy dictionary installation, support for searching using regular expressions, streaming of results so the interface is never frozen, and a simple interface that makes sense. The preferences dialog has a new advanced tab and options for adjusting the highlight colors. The search engine has been upgraded a bit. Bugs were fixed. Support for NetBSD was improved. Better sorting was provided for Japanese searches. The Japanese locale requirements have been loosened.
