The ATLAS (Automatically Tuned Linear Algebra Software) project is an ongoing research effort focusing on applying empirical techniques in order to provide portable performance. It provides C and Fortran77 interfaces to a portably efficient BLAS implementation, as well as a few routines from LAPACK.

Improved Core2 performance, particularly for 32 bit and/or single precision. The Core2Duo arch name has been changed to Core2. The cycle of dependencies in L1 Makefiles has been fixed. Compile problems for architectures without cacheline flush in assembly have been fixed. An error in configure caused by a change in CPUID usage has been fixed. Missing f77 wrappers for GERQF and GEQLF have been added. CPP division is avoided in assembly on Solaris due to a binutils/Solaris bug.
