Coreboot (formerly known as LinuxBIOS) is a project that aims to replace the normal BIOS with a little bit of hardware initialization and a payload. Payloads can include a compressed Linux kernel, FILO, GRUB2, OpenBIOS, Open Firmware, SmartFirmware, GNUFI (UEFI), Etherboot, ADLO (for booting Windows and OpenBSD), Plan 9, or memtest86.

This release adds support for the Abit BE6-II V2.0 board. It adds IDs and a chip entry for the Spansion S25FL016A to flash ROM. It adds two new record types for lbtable: one to provide information about serial ports, the other to provide console data. bsh/ksh syntax in makefiles has been fixed. The code now correctly disables the ROM area Write Protect bit in the Geode LX. Compilation bugs in the mptable utility have been fixed. The remaining Linxbios to Coreboot name change issues have been fixed.
