Java using shell-script for doing awk

Suppose u have a

file A having another list of files
file_A223H
file_H22K
file_D334G

file C have list
H=2
G=3
A=1
K=6

from which in the file A where last character H,K,G will have each number respectively in the file C

And I am doing individually

for file in file_A223H
do
cat $file|awk -v num=2 '{if(NR==num) print($0);}'
done

Whether can have a shell script to perform this operations...where file A have all those list of files ..

sorry
expected output....
file_A223H contains
22
33
44

so result will be 33
As H=2 so scond part will be extracted only......

second file file_H22K display
22
46
76
44
45
32
43
66

for file in file_H22K
do
cat $file|awk -v num=4 '{if(NR==num) print($0);}' $file
done

so output will be 32
as K=6 as mentioned in file C

As i have to do individually....

clear question

Can i put a clear question...

u have files

one file WA dsiplaying
2.11
33.33
44.5
3.33
5.33

another file WB displays
4.2
3.22
3.33
42.22
3.21.

another file WC
3.22.
34.3
4.5
4.32
4.33

One more file say C
2
5
4
3.

As i want the output shud be
for WA = 33.33 as 2

for WB = 3.21 as 5

for WC = 4.32 as 4

so i was writing the code
like that

for file in WA
do
cat $file|awk -v num=2 '{if(NR==num) print($0);}' >value
done

This code will take a lot of time ..everytime when shift in another file WB i have to put num=5

That can be possible in shell script where
u have list of whole files (WA,WB,WC) under one file and have another file C

Then do shell script... how??

Something like this:
(use nawk or /usr/xpg4/bin/awk on Solaris)

Code:
awk 'NR == FNR {
  _[ARGV[++i]] = $1
  next
  }
FILENAME in _ && FNR == _[FILENAME]
' i=2 C W*

For example:
Code:
$ head C W*
==> C <==
2
5
4
3

==> WA <==
2.11
33.33
44.5
3.33
5.33

==> WB <==
4.2
3.22
3.33
42.22
3.21

==> WC <==
3.22
34.3
4.5
4.32
4.33

So:

Code:
$ awk 'NR == FNR { _[ARGV[++i]] = $1; next }
FILENAME in _ && FNR == _[FILENAME]
' i=2 C W*
33.33
3.21
4.32

Or:

Code:
awk 'NR == FNR {
  _[ARGV[++i]] = $1
  next
  }
FILENAME in _ && FNR == _[FILENAME] {
  printf "for %s = %s as %d\n",
    FILENAME, $0, FNR
  }' i=2 C W*

Code:
$ awk 'NR == FNR {
  _[ARGV[++i]] = $1
  next
  }
FILENAME in _ && FNR == _[FILENAME] {
  printf "for %s = %s as %d\n",
    FILENAME, $0, FNR
  }' i=2 C W*
for WA = 33.33 as 2
for WB = 3.21 as 5
for WC = 4.32 as 4

If you're using GNU AWK you should add nextfile after the printstatement for efficiency.

thanks but one more question in displaying output

Thanks Radulov..

This works fine

But if u have WA* means WA1,WA2,WA3,WA4,WA5.....soon on
that is multiple files of WA* displaying different values
then WB1,WB2,WB3........so on
then WC1,WC2,WC3.......so on

and same that file C
2
5
4
3.

And using that code u mentioned

awk 'NR == FNR {
_[ARGV[++i]] = $1
next
}
FILENAME in _ && FNR == _[FILENAME]
' i=2 C W*

Then it will display
WA1 = (whatever values in 2) as C=2
WA2 (whatever values in 5) as C=5
WA3 (whatever valuesin 4 ) as C=4
WA4 (whatever values in 3) as C =3

My question is
i want the output shud show like t
hat

WA* means WA1,WA2,WA3........
shows values as only 2 as in the file C 2
means All WA* files will show when first one C =2 (same 2 )

similarly, WB* means WB1,WB2,WC3.........
shows values with respect to in the file C 5 only

same WC* with respect to 4 as in C only

Code:
awk 'NR == FNR { p[++c] = $1; next }
!fn[substr(FILENAME, 1, 2)]++ { l = p[++n] }
FNR == l { printf "for %s = %s as %d\n",
  FILENAME, $0, FNR
  }' C W*
